Transmission Right-of-Way Projects

To keep communities aware of transmission line projects affecting multiple towns, a website has been set up,

• ResponsibleGrid.org (updates, maps, and contact information for relevant officials)

National Grid and Eversource are both doing projects at this time and are affecting towns indicated below. Conservation Commissions will need to be especially alert to projects affecting wetlands and slopes to ensure that no damage is done to wildlife habitat and that trees are left standing when they do not and/or will not have an impact to the power lines.

Towns impacted

• National Grid (New England Power): Auburn, Belchertown, Conway, Deerfield, East Brookfield, Leicester, Leverett, Millbury, North Brookfield, Pelham, Shelburne, Shutesbury, Spencer, Sunderland, Ware, and West Brookfield.

• Eversource (NStar): Northfield, Erving, Wendell, Montague, Leverett, Shutesbury, Pelham, Belchertown, Amherst, Granby, and Ludlow
