Application forms and additional information for new firearms licenses and renewal firearms licenses are available online at www.mass.gov/chsb.

You are aslo able to apply for a firearms license ionline through the MIRCS Firearms Licensing Portal by creating an account at https://mircsportal.chs.state.ma.us/mircs-portal/login.xhtml

  • An appointment may be made with Sergeant Sean Connor to begin the application process.
  • Sergeant Connor typically works Monday through Thursday from 7am to 5pm.
  • Please allow at least 30 minutes for the application process.

First Time Applicants

First time applicants can apply for a firearms license through the MIRCS portal or in person. If applying online you will stiil be required to be fingerprinted at the Pelham Police Department.

  • Complete application
  • Provide a copy of a Certificate of Completion from Massachusetts Basic Firearms Safety Course.
  • Provide a Valid MA drivers license
  • A $100.00 non-refundable fee must be submitted along with application. Checks made out to "The Town of Pelham" can be submitted to Town Offices located at 351 Amherst Road
  • Persons 70 years old and older are FREE of charge

Fingerprints and photos will be taken at the time the application is submitted.

Renewal Applicants

Renewal applicants can apply for a firearms license through the portal or in person.

  • Complete application
  • Provide a Valid MA drivers license
  • A $100.00 non-refundable fee must be submitted along with application. Checks made out to "The Town of Pelham" can be submitted to the Town Offices located at 351 Amherst Road
  • Persons 70 years old and older are FREE of charge

Photos can be taken at the time the application is submitted.

NOTE: As stated on page two of the firearms application: “ANY PERSON WHO KNOWINGLY FILES AN APPLICATION CONTAINING FALSE INFORMATION SHALL BE PUNISHED BY A FINE OF NOT LESS THAN $500.00 NOR MORE THAN $1000.00 OR BY IMPRISONMENT FOR NOT LESS THAN 6 MONTHS NOR MORE THAN 2 YEARS IN A HOUSE OF CORRECTION, OR BY BOTH SUCH FINE AND IMPRISONMENT (M.G.L. c140§131).”
